What happens to the money I donate? What are the charity principles and values? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- All the money raised to support project activities in Kenya is through charitable donations. We are extremely grateful to all those individuals and groups who work so hard to raise money on behalf of KOP. If you are able and wish to support KOP please go to the donations page or contact us for more details. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- KOP has a small permanent office with only a few full time staff. We work closely with student groups at a number of UK Universities that undertake fundraising activities throughout the year. KOP uses all the funds raised by student groups and all other types of fundraising activity to support partner projects in Kenya. The work of the partner projects provides sustained support to orphans and vulnerable children. The student groups also partake in a student visit programme to each of the projects which is managed and coordinated by KOP ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you wish to make a donation of any kind, help organise or support a fundraising activity then please contact us or visit the donations page of this site. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- What happens to the money I donate? All the money you donate is managed by the KOP office and every penny goes towards the delivery of project activities in Kenya. Each year KOP reviews existing projects and seeks new ventures or developments that are clearly in desperate need of external support. The projects are managed locally by our project partners who are all established Kenyan NGO’s (Non Government Organisations) or CBO’s (Community Based Organisations) in their own right. KOP decides how much will be given by way of grant support to each activity and the project partners are accountable to KOP on a quarterly and annual basis for how all of that grant money is spent. Self funded KOP student groups then spend the summer visiting and working alongside all the project activities, gaining a valuable practical learning experience to broaden their awareness of international child health and social development issues. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The KOP office is at Unit 26, Brewmaster Buildings, Charlton Estate, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, BA4 5QE or you can call 0044(0)1749 344591 or contact us via this website ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Mission is to support and give hope to orphaned, abandoned or vulnerable children by relieving poverty, sickness and distress, advancing education and advancing health and social welfare, thereby enabling them to grow and develop in order that they have a chance to fulfil their potential. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- In close partnership with local communities and community based organisations we aim to support and work with local projects. We believe that the only effective and sustainable way to deliver improvements and support to orphans, vulnerable children and their communities is by working ‘from the inside out’ using the ideas and ownership of community members.
