We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic volunteer to assist with our Student Programme based in Kenya for the summer period.

The successful applicant will be based in Kisumu, Western Kenya from Mid June to early September and will need experience of managing large groups of people. The role involves supporting the existing Student Coordinator in a variety of ways so the individual needs to be organised, flexible and able to take direction.

They must be an excellent communicator, proactive and confident, ideally with an understanding of the social and economic context of sub-Saharan Africa. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for a career in International Development or who wants to do something a bit different with their summer! This is a volunteer role but expenses including flights and accommodation will be paid. If you think you are the person we need, please apply before 8 March 2010!

In 2010 KOP is working with other partners to organise an epic ‘bike ride’ from Nairobi to Kisumu.

This event will take place in October and will be an arduous ride through some of the most difficult yet stunningly beautiful parts of Kenya. We hope to encourage more than 30 participants for the ‘journey of a lifetime’. Click here for more details of the ride and how to become involved.
